A well stocked nappy bag means you are armed and prepared for anything that could go wrong (and probably will) when you are out and about.
A lot of what you pack depends on the age of your child and their individual needs however no matter the age there are some stock standard items that will remain an essential for many years.
One handy hint is to always restock when you return home to ensure those quick trips out never end badly.

With so much to pack in one bag, it is important to find a nappy bag that is big and roomy enough to hold everything. Not only that, it must be designed so you can get to everything nice and quickly without rummaging around for what seems like forever. The last thing you want is to be hanging on to a spewy baby while you scrounge around frantically in the bottom of an overloaded bag looking for a cloth.
There are some truly amazing nappy bags out there that are thoughtfully designed to carry all the things a mum needs, and have them easily accessible. Thankfully these days we have moved away from the ugly dreaded nappy bag to gorgeous statement bags full of style and function that last well beyond the nappy years.
My favourite designer nappy bag brand is Petunia Picklebottom. A perennial exhibit of bold lines, daring colors and darling designer details, Petunia Pickle Bottom was created for the steadfast sophisticate inside every woman – even the tracky dacked, unshowered and stained clothed ones!
These nappy bags are made from wipeable or washable fabrics, including the lining to ensure any spills or spews can be removed without a trace. Many of them have cleverly removable take along changing kits that include a wipes case and changing pad so that makes it one less thing to buy for your bag. Most also have the fold out nappy change pad ensuring you always have a clean soft surface to change bub on. They all are packed with clever pockets specifically designed for items such as nappies, bottles, creams, sunnies and mobile phones.
Now my kids are a little bit older, my Petunia Picklebottom is still my go to bag for heading out as they stand the test of time, look great, and still house all the things kids still need like nappy wipes, tissues, snacks, sunscreen, hats, spare clothes and so much more.
